At your core you know who you are, what you believe, the kind of relationships you want to have and the kind of life you want to build. 

Trauma, anxiety, grief, loss and relationship issues can take up so much mental space that it can feel difficult to envision that life or to believe that you deserve it.

These experiences can be isolating and it may be hard to reach out for help at the times you need it the most. Everyone deserves time and space to be listened to and supported.

My goal is to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment where you can feel comfortable expressing yourself freely, and to provide tools and resources to help you to work towards the life you want.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

I provide therapy to individuals looking for support and tools to deal with anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, relationship issues, career issues, self harm, suicidal thoughts and trauma/PTSD.

I provide therapy from a trauma-informed harm reduction perspective. My training focused on psychodynamic psychotherapy so I have a lot of experience doing long term talk therapy. I have taken additional training in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and mindfulness so I can offer practical strategies to manage anxiety and stay grounded.

I see therapy as a collaborative process and am very open to getting feedback and guidance from you to ensure you are getting what you need.  

QUALIFICATIONS

My name is Joan Ruzsa and I am a registered psychotherapist (RPQ) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. 

I received my Diploma of Psychotherapy from the Ontario Psychotherapy and Counseling Program in 2018 and have been in private practice ever since.

I further my education on an ongoing basis including trainings in CBT, mindfulness, trauma-informed care, depression and eating disorders. Ongoing professional development is essential to providing the best possible treatment. 

I don’t believe in a one size fits all approach to therapy. My goal is to collaboratively come up with a treatment plan that works best for each individual client.

FAQ

HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION TAKE?

Each therapy session is 50 minutes.

WHAT ARE YOUR RATES/FEES?


My rate is $120 per session. 

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

I do accept insurance. Please check with your provider to ensure that psychotherapy is covered through your package.
